British farms and communities across the planned hub network
NETWORK STANDARDS / PRE-LAUNCH

Vetted distribution hubs.

Existing infrastructure, checked before activation. Cold storage, food hygiene and suitable space underpin every proposed network node.

PROPOSED APPROVAL CRITERIA

Suitability first.
Activation second.

This is the planned review framework, not completed approvals.
No location is presented as already vetted or certified.

Suitable cold storage

Existing storage suited to the agreed products and volumes, with temperature monitoring, cleaning arrangements and a plan for equipment failure. Requirements depend on the food handled.

Food hygiene readiness

Review applicable food-business registration, hygiene records and safe handling procedures. Confirm cleaning, contamination controls and allergen-information responsibilities before activation.

Usable, safe space

Check spare floor space, secure holding areas, separation from other activity and safe access for growers, couriers and buyers. Agree the capacity the site can support.

Reliable handovers

Agree delivery access, collection windows, staffing and order identification. Document missed collections, the 50% rescue sale and staff or food-voucher collection, subject to safe handling and shelf life.

Clear host responsibilities

Identify a responsible host contact and agree handling duties, payment terms, incident reporting and relevant insurance arrangements. Interest in hosting is not an activation commitment.

Recorded readiness

Record the site review, supporting evidence, unresolved actions and the activation decision. Outstanding safety or handling issues must be addressed before the site goes live.

APPROVAL PATHWAY

From prospective host
to active network node.

Each stage needs a recorded decision.
Unresolved readiness issues prevent activation.

GATE 101

Expression of interest

The host shares its location, existing facilities and proposed availability. Pubs, village halls, farm shops, coffee houses, community centres and other local businesses can be considered.

GATE 202

Evidence and site review

Review storage, hygiene, space and operating arrangements. Identify gaps and agree actions with the host; an application alone does not qualify a site.

GATE 303

Readiness decision

Confirm agreed requirements are met, record the review and resolve outstanding actions. Agree host responsibilities and a controlled first handover before activation.

GATE 404

Activation and continuing review

Check the first handovers and keep arrangements under review. Changes to facilities, food handling or host availability trigger reassessment; unresolved safety issues pause activity.

INVESTOR EVIDENCE

Review the criteria.
Request the evidence.

Ask Nathan for the proposed checklist, host terms and any available site-review records. Site addresses, host contacts and operational evidence are shared privately where appropriate; no completed inspection records are published here.

“Vetted” refers to Grower2You’s planned internal suitability review, not third-party certification or regulatory approval. Applicable legal requirements remain the responsibility of the relevant food-business operator. The framework must be finalised with appropriate food-safety advice before launch.
